Editorial Photography
Blackbook Magazine
These editorials were photographed for BlackBook magazine in the early 2000s, during its influential run under creative director Tom Ackerman. Known for its edgy, art-forward voice, BlackBook served as a launchpad for emerging designers and cultural commentary. The shoot, produced in collaboration with stylist Elizabeth Sulcer, showcased rising fashion brands and talents of the time. The images were captured using a 4x5 large format camera with Polaroid Type 600 film, preserving the immediacy and tonal richness that aligned with the magazine’s raw, high-concept aesthetic.
Commissioned
Todd Magill
Shot on location for fashion designer Todd Magill’s Spring 2005 lookbook. The setting—a home designed by several notable architects, including James DeLong—was the residence of Glenn Lawson and Grant Fenning, co-founders of Lawson-Fenning, a Los Angeles-based design studio renowned for its handcrafted furniture and curated interiors. Photographed using a 4x5 large format field camera with Polaroid Type 600 instant film.
Saks Fifth Avenue
In the 1990s, Saks Fifth Avenue’s store book was a defining artifact of luxury fashion, shot by the legendary Victor Skrebneski and featuring supermodels like Claudia Schiffer, Nadja Auermann, and Yasmeen Ghauri, setting a visual standard for the decade. From 1993 to 2001, still life photography played a key role in this creative legacy, with the same cinematic attention to detail applied to products as in the fashion editorials. These images were captured on E-6 chrome film, with final exposures preceded by Polaroid Type 55 test shots to evaluate sharpness and contrast, as seen in this preliminary image for a NARS Cosmetics campaign.
